Choosing a plan

How seat-based pricing works and what each plan includes.

Introduction

DNA has three plans: Starter, Pro, and Team. Every new signup lands on Starter automatically and stays there for as long as they want. Upgrade to Pro or Team when you hit a limit that is slowing you down, or when you need a shared workspace for your firm.

Every plan includes the same core features. Pro and Team lift the limits on client count and Helix usage. Team adds the shared workspace.

When each plan makes sense

Starter is a good fit if…
You are new to DNA and want to try it on real clients, or you are actively working with three or fewer clients. It stays free forever with no time limit.

Pro is a good fit if…
You are a solo advisor working beyond three clients, or you use Helix often enough that the 3-hour limit gets in your way.

Team is a good fit if…
Your firm has more than one advisor and you want everyone in a shared workspace where the same client files are visible to the whole team. Team requires a minimum of 2 seats.

How the Helix limit works on Starter

Starter includes 6 Helix questions per 2-hour window. The windows are fixed, not rolling. If you use your 6 questions at the end of a window, you can ask again as soon as the next window starts.

How upgrades work

Upgrading runs through a checkout page. Pick Pro or Team from the billing area, enter your payment method, and your plan switches as soon as the payment goes through. None of your data changes: clients, documents, beneficiaries, coverage, and notes carry over exactly as they were.

For Team, you start with a minimum of 2 seats. You add more advisors after setup from the team page, and each new advisor adds a pro-rated charge to your bill for the rest of the current billing period. See Setting up your team for the full setup flow.

Switching plans later

You can move between plans at any time.

  • Starter to Pro or Team. Run through checkout. Your data carries over.
  • Pro to Team. Upgrade from solo to firm without a second payment method. Your existing subscription adjusts to Team pricing based on the seats you choose.
  • Team to Pro. Reduce your seat count. If you drop to a single advisor, your subscription switches back to Pro pricing automatically.
  • Pro or Team back to Starter. Cancel your subscription. You stay on your paid plan until the end of the current billing period, then revert to Starter.

What happens if you cancel

Canceling a paid plan does not delete anything. Your clients, documents, beneficiaries, coverage, and notes stay exactly where they are. At the end of your current billing period, your account drops to Starter’s free tier.

Reactivating after a cancellation

If you cancel and change your mind before your billing period ends, you can reactivate your paid plan without re-entering your payment details. After the period ends, reactivating runs through checkout again.

Still unsure?

If you are not sure which plan fits your situation, start on Starter. It costs nothing and gives you enough room to walk through the product on three clients. You can upgrade later without losing any of your setup.
